One county, mostly one city

Kansas City, Kansas, covers most of Wyandotte County, and the city and the county run together as the Unified Government. Bonner Springs and Edwardsville are separate small cities out at the west end. So if you live in Wyandotte County, odds are good you live in Kansas City, Kansas, and that is Josh's home city.

Josh's corner of it

Engine Doctor is out in the Piper area on the west side, along Leavenworth Road. Wyandotte County Lake Park, the big county park and lake at North 91st Street, is close by, and Village West and I-435 are a short way south.

The city stretches from there all the way east to the old neighborhoods by Kaw Point Park, where the Kansas and Missouri rivers come together. The Kansas City, Kansas, page goes into both ends of the city.

Text Josh what the car is doing, with a photo or a short video if you can. He will tell you what he thinks it is and what it will cost.

Edwardsville and Bonner Springs

Edwardsville sits between Kansas City, Kansas, and Bonner Springs on the north side of the Kaw. It is a small place, with Edwardsville City Park on Blake Street and the Edwardsville Community Center on South 3rd Street. It doesn't have its own page, so it is on this one.

Bonner Springs is the far west end of the county, where K-7 runs down to I-70 and across the river. The Wyandotte County Museum is there on North 126th Street. For either town, call or text and ask if Josh comes out your way. He is based close by in Kansas City, Kansas.

Roads that tie the county together

I-70 crosses the middle of the county east to west, and part of it is the Kansas Turnpike. I-435 runs north and south on the west side past Village West, and K-7 does the same farther out by Bonner Springs. US-24/40 heads west out of the county toward Basehor and Tonganoxie. Along the south edge, the Kaw forms part of the line with Johnson County, so from the west side, going south means crossing a bridge.

A car that lives on those highways piles up miles quickly. Steady highway driving is easier on an engine than a lot of short trips, but the oil and filter still come due on the schedule in your owner's manual, and so does a timing belt on the engines that have one.

What Josh does at a Wyandotte County house

The list is the same at every house. Josh does brakes and check engine lights, alternators and starters, and serpentine belts with the pulleys and tensioner they run on. He replaces radiators and radiator hoses, flushes coolant, and fixes the gaskets behind oil and coolant leaks. The bigger engine work covers timing belts, timing chains, camshafts, and engine replacement when an engine is past fixing. Then there is the regular stuff: oil changes, engine air filters, transmission fluid and power steering fluid.

All of it gets a clear quote from Josh before he starts. A few big engine jobs are more than a driveway can handle, and he will tell you if yours is one.
